Tommy Gantt Submits Drakkar Klose, Stays Undefeated at Noche UFC
Tommy Gantt stayed unbeaten the way he has finished most of his career. He locked a reverse triangle on Drakkar Klose at 2:46 of round three and forced the tap at Noche UFC in Glendale.
The official graphic listed Gantt at 13-0 with one no contest after the stoppage. Klose dropped to 16-4-1. MMA Junkie had Gantt 2-0 inside the UFC and Klose 10-4 in the promotion.
Commentary caught the finish as it tightened. “See he’s got it. Oh, and he tapped,” one voice said as Marc Goddard stepped in. Another added that the undefeated lightweight “catches [Klose] in a triangle” with “a little something extra on the way out.”
Gantt walked the cage afterward in white shorts while the booth called it what it looked like. “That was pure dominance,” one analyst said. “That was a complete shellacking.” A third line landed just as blunt: “There was not even a breath, of course, the entire fight.”
The numbers backed the talk. Gantt landed 56 of 82 significant strikes to Klose’s 15 of 30. He went 2 for 8 on takedowns. Klose never attempted one. Gantt’s single official submission attempt was the one that ended the night.
Round three followed the same pattern the first two had set. Gantt closed distance, put Klose on the fence, and finally kept a takedown. He moved to the back, found mount, then caught Klose when the veteran tried to scramble out. Elbows came with the squeeze. Klose tapped.
Gantt is 33, out of Raleigh, and an NC State All-American wrestler who trains with Daniel Cormier’s DC MMA group. The caption on the finish clip called him a proud student with that corner in the building. His last UFC outing was a second-round TKO of Artur Minev in May. Before that he earned a contract with a first-round guillotine on Dana White’s Contender Series.
Klose is the longer UFC story. The veteran had beaten Edson Barboza by decision in August 2025 and came in as the experienced lightweight who had spoiled prospects before. He could not keep Gantt off him for 12 minutes and change.
Noche UFC’s prelims already had Regina Tarin, Sean King III, and Rong Zhu in the win column when this one closed. Gantt’s submission was the first finish of the later lightweight stretch and the loudest statement of the afternoon to that point.
An undefeated 13-0 record at 33 is not the usual prospect path. Gantt has six knockouts and now six submissions on the ledger, and he just added a ranked veteran’s name to the list. The lightweight division will have to decide how high that run goes. The next booking is the only argument left after a triangle in Arizona.
