Regina Tarin Wins Unanimous Decision Over JJ Aldrich at Noche UFC
Regina Tarin kept her perfect record intact to open Noche UFC in Glendale. All three judges scored the flyweight fight 29-28, and the 21-year-old Mexican prospect had her hand raised over veteran JJ Aldrich at Desert Diamond Arena.
“All three judges scored this contest 29-28 for the winner by unanimous decision, Regina Tarin,” the cage announcer said as the referee lifted her arm.
Tarin entered 8-0. The decision makes her 9-0 and 2-0 in the UFC after a short-notice debut win over Ernesta Kareckaite in Mexico City in February. Aldrich came in 15-7 and dropped to 15-8 in her latest Octagon appearance.
The clip from Paramount+ shows the official result, then the building. Mexican flags went up in the stands while Tarin, blood on her face and braids still tight, smiled through the decision.
She did not linger in the center. Tarin walked off the score, met her corner, and hugged the woman who came to her at the fence before throwing both arms up again for the Noche UFC crowd.
That reaction fit the booking. This was the fourth annual Mexican Independence Day card, and Tarin is from Mexico City. The flyweight bout was on the preliminary card, but the building treated the hand-raise like a home fight.
Aldrich had the experience edge on paper. She has been on the roster for years and came in off wins over Andrea Lee and Jamey-Lyn Horth. Tarin had said before the fight that youth versus experience was the story she expected, and that respect would end at the cage door.
The judges kept it close. A 29-28 sweep means one round the other way on every card, not a blowout. Live scoring from the arena had Tarin taking the third as she walked Aldrich down, traded in the pocket, and finished in a brawl with both women bleeding from the nose.
Tarin’s first UFC win was also a decision. That night in February she stepped in on four days’ notice, earned Fight of the Night money, and left 8-0. Saturday was the first time she got a full camp and a Noche stage against a veteran who knows how to steal rounds.
She still left undefeated. Kill Bill is 21, southpaw, 5-foot-7, and now two UFC decisions deep without a loss on her professional record.
Noche UFC continues from there with the rest of the prelims and a main card headlined by Jean Silva versus Jose Delgado. Tarin’s night is already in the books: a unanimous decision, a packed Arizona arena waving Mexico’s flag, and a 9-0 start that no longer rests on one short-notice debut.
The next question is the same one every undefeated flyweight hears after beating a veteran.
