Juliana Miller Submits Ravena Oliveira in Round 2 at UFC Vegas 120

Juliana Miller locked in a rear-naked choke to force the tap from Ravena Oliveira in the second round at UFC Fight Night on Saturday.

The women’s flyweight bout took place on the preliminary card of UFC Vegas 120, also billed as UFC Fight Night: Gamrot vs. Salkilld, at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Miller finished the fight at the 1:38 mark of Round 2.

Miller improved to 5-4 overall and 3-3 inside the UFC with the victory. Oliveira dropped to 7-5-1 as a professional and 0-4 in the Octagon.

The win snapped a recent skid for the 30-year-old American, who had lost her previous outing by unanimous decision to Carli Judice in February. Miller, nicknamed “Killer,” needed the result after a mixed stretch that left her fighting to stay on the roster.

Oliveira entered with four consecutive UFC losses and struggled to keep the fight standing once Miller mixed in wrestling. After absorbing an early strike, Miller shifted to the ground and took the back to secure the choke.

In her post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier, Miller first addressed wildfires affecting her home region. “Right now Spokane is on a fire,” she said. “For the millions of you watching at home, please. If there’s anything you can do.”

She then turned to the significance of the bout itself. “We were fighting for our jobs,” Miller said. “I just decided I don’t a f*ck what you do, I’m taking you down and choking your a** out.”

Miller later reflected on her progress and ambitions. “I’ve been working so hard to show my skills,” she said, adding that she now feels prepared to push toward the rankings.

The submission marks Miller’s third career win by that method and her first finish since 2022. It also ends Oliveira’s stay on a four-fight losing skid in the UFC, leaving the Brazilian in a difficult position within the women’s flyweight division.

Miller’s ability to mix wrestling with her ground game proved decisive. The victory gives her momentum in a competitive 125-pound division that rewards consistency and finishes.

Both fighters entered Saturday with their UFC futures under scrutiny. Miller’s performance delivers a clear statement and positions her for a potential step-up in competition as the promotion continues to shape the flyweight rankings.
