Nora Cornolle Wins Unanimous Decision, Puts France 3-0 at UFC Paris
Nora Cornolle snapped a two-fight losing streak with a unanimous decision over Klaudia Sygula at UFC Paris on Saturday. All three judges scored the women’s bantamweight bout 30-27, 30-27 and 30-27, making it 3-0 for French fighters on the night.
The win came on the prelims of UFC Fight Night: Hooker vs. Parnasse at Accor Arena. Cornolle entered 9-4 and 3-3 in the UFC, while Sygula came in 8-2 with two straight Octagon victories.
The No. 13 ranked fighter needed the result after a difficult stretch. Joselyne Edwards submitted her with a rear-naked choke at 2:44 of Round 2 on Feb. 21 in Houston, and Karol Rosa had beaten her by unanimous decision on Aug. 2, 2025.
Paris has been mixed for Cornolle. She debuted in this building on Sept. 2, 2023, and beat Edwards by unanimous decision, then lost a split decision to Jacqueline Cavalcanti here on Sept. 28, 2024.
Sygula, 27, arrived with momentum. The Polish fighter had outpointed Irina Alekseeva in June 2025 and Priscila Cachoeira in February after a second-round TKO loss to Melissa Mullins in her UFC debut.
Referee Christophe Chapuis started the 135-pound fight with Cornolle, 36, looking to use her Muay Thai base in front of a home crowd. She landed a body kick early, stuffed a takedown, and put Sygula on the mat with a throw.
Cornolle stood and kicked the legs before Sygula was stood up. Sygula later found top position, but Cornolle got back to her feet and closed the round with knees in the clinch.
Round 2 stayed in close quarters. Cornolle landed a spinning back fist, slipped, then worked elbows against the fence after the scramble.
She took the back, landed a knee, and jumped on a standing arm-triangle when Sygula threw a right hand. Cornolle got the fight down, then stood and kicked from the top to take another round.
Sygula had to finish in the third to change the result. Cornolle answered with an early takedown, then another, and spent time hunting an arm-triangle she could not quite lock in.
Sygula reversed into guard and threatened the neck before the fight returned to the feet. She landed punches late, but Cornolle clinched again and drove a knee in before the horn.
The scorecards matched the control. ESPN’s fight tracker had Cornolle landing 39 significant strikes to Sygula’s 26, even as Sygula threw more total strikes.
Cornolle is now 10-4 overall and 4-3 in the UFC. The unanimous decision was the second of her career.
Sygula falls to 8-3 and 2-2 in the promotion. The loss ends a two-fight winning streak that had her climbing at 135 pounds.
The result also kept the home start intact. Delphine Benouaich had opened the card by submitting Sofia Montenegro in Round 2, and Matthieu Duclos followed with a first-round knockout of Luis Felipe Dias.
Cornolle’s unanimous decision made it three French wins in three fights. Michael Aljarouj was next among the remaining French fighters still waiting on the Paris prelims.
A 30-27 sweep over an unranked opponent will not by itself move Cornolle toward the top of the women’s bantamweight division. It does stop a slide and gives the ranked fighter a win in front of her home crowd.
Cornolle will wait for the UFC to book her next fight as the rest of the Paris card continues Saturday.
