Justin Gaethje Supports Max Holloway Foundation at Hawaii Golf Classic
Justin Gaethje made time for Max Holloway’s inaugural charity golf event just weeks after capturing the UFC lightweight title, underscoring the respect between two fighters who produced one of the division’s most memorable wars.
The Max Holloway Foundation Golf Classic took place Monday at Kapolei Golf Club on Oahu. Proceeds benefit West Oahu underprivileged youth and the foundation’s arts and education programs for Hawaii’s young people. The organization was established in 2025.
Gaethje, now the undisputed lightweight champion, joined Holloway and former two-division titleholder Daniel Cormier on the range and course. Video from the day shows the new champion swinging drivers and irons alongside fellow participants under cloudy Hawaiian skies, interacting with the group and posing for photographs at the conclusion of the session.
The appearance carries extra weight given the pair’s shared history. At UFC 300 in April 2024, Holloway knocked out Gaethje in the fifth round to claim the BMF title in a bout widely regarded as one of the greatest in UFC history. Both men left everything in the octagon that night in Las Vegas.
Gaethje entered the charity event on a career high. On June 14 at UFC Freedom 250, staged on the White House South Lawn, he stopped Ilia Topuria by corner stoppage at the end of the fourth round to become the undisputed lightweight champion. The victory improved his record to 28-5 and marked the realization of a long-held goal.
Holloway continues to represent Hawaii both inside and outside the cage. His foundation’s first major public fundraiser drew a sold-out field of players and the presence of high-profile combat sports figures willing to spend a day swinging clubs for the cause.
The visual of Gaethje, still fresh off a title-winning performance, standing on the same tee boxes as Holloway and Cormier offered a quiet reminder of the relationships that often form after the hardest nights in the sport. No formal statements were issued from the range, yet the simple act of showing up spoke clearly.
For Gaethje the immediate focus remains the lightweight division he now leads. For Holloway the foundation represents an expanding off-cage priority centered on the next generation in his home state. Both men left Kapolei Golf Club having contributed to a cause larger than any single fight, with the inaugural classic now in the books and future events already on the horizon.
