Movsar Evloev Says He Can’t Watch Women’s Fights
Movsar Evloev gave a blunt assessment of women’s fights this week, saying he does not watch them and floating the idea of a separate UFC for female athletes. The comments came from the unbeaten featherweight title challenger during an interview with Mike Bohn on The Bohnfire, and they spread quickly as he prepares for UFC 333.
Evloev is 20-0 overall and 10-0 in the UFC. He is ranked No. 1 at featherweight and challenges two-time champion Alexander Volkanovski on October 24 at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
The women’s MMA exchange was a side topic in that same conversation. Evloev said he has not followed the division closely and does not enjoy the bouts he has seen.
“I don’t watch women’s fights, I can’t watch them, it’s very difficult, I haven’t seen many but all the ones I’ve seen haven’t been good,” Evloev said.
That is a personal viewing preference, not a policy from the UFC. Evloev did not present data, ratings, or a formal proposal. He described what he watches, and what he does not.
He then went further. After Bohn noted that women’s MMA is still younger than the men’s side and still evolving, Evloev suggested splitting the product entirely.
“Maybe they should create a separate UFC for them and then we’ll see who watches it,” he said.
The line is the part now traveling across social media. Evloev framed it as a test of audience interest, not as an announcement that such a league is being planned.
During the same interview, he did say one women’s bout he watched was high-level. He still grouped the rest of what he has seen as fights he did not like and said he does not watch many of them.
Those remarks sit against a UFC roster that has featured women’s championship divisions for more than a decade. Female title fights remain a regular part of numbered cards and Fight Night events, and the promotion has not indicated any plan to move them into a separate company.
Evloev’s comments also arrive at a sensitive point in his own career. He has waited years for a title shot, and the Volkanovski fight is the biggest assignment of his life.

Volkanovski is 28-4 overall and 15-3 in the UFC. The 37-year-old champion is defending the featherweight belt against Evloev, 32, after back-to-back wins over Diego Lopes.
Evloev reached this point with a grappling-heavy style and a perfect record, including a majority decision over Lerone Murphy in London on March 21. That win, after a point deduction, locked in his place as the next man up.
The women’s fights discussion does not change the matchup. It does add a layer of attention that has nothing to do with takedowns, striking, or the 145-pound title.
Evloev has been outspoken in the same interview cycle about how he plans to beat Volkanovski, saying he will wrestle as often as he wants. Those fight comments are the ones that will matter on October 24.
His women’s MMA remarks are different. They are an opinion about what he chooses to watch, delivered while he is one of the most visible fighters on the roster.
The UFC has not responded publicly to the clip. No women’s champion or ranked female fighter had issued a verified reply at the time the footage began circulating.
That leaves the story where Evloev put it. He says he cannot watch women’s fights, he says the ones he has seen were not good, and he says a separate UFC would show who is actually tuning in.
Those are his words, not a reflection of the UFC’s event model. The company is still building UFC 333 around a men’s featherweight title fight, with women’s bouts remaining part of the same promotion.
Evloev still has seven weeks before he walks into the Octagon with Volkanovski. The title fight is booked, the ranking is settled, and the extra headlines now sit beside the camp work that will decide whether his undefeated record survives October in Abu Dhabi.
