Cris Cyborg vs Ketlen Vieira Headlines PFL Title Fight Saturday
Cris Cyborg vs Ketlen Vieira headlines Saturday in Tampa, with Cyborg’s PFL women’s featherweight title on the line in a bout the promotion has framed as her MMA farewell. The 41-year-old champion meets fellow Brazilian Ketlen Vieira at Benchmark International Arena, and the main card airs live on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET.
Cyborg is 29-2 and chasing the 30th win of a career that began in 2005. She has not lost since Amanda Nunes knocked her out in 2018 and has won nine straight fights across the UFC, Bellator, and PFL.
She is the only woman to claim major championships in the UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce, Invicta FC, and the PFL. She last fought in December in France, submitting previously unbeaten Sara Collins to become the inaugural PFL featherweight champion.
PFL has sold the date as a retirement fight. Cyborg has been more careful than that.
“This could be my last fight, but this is my last fight in my contract,” she told MMA Junkie Radio this week. “I’m really focused on Ketlen Vieira, but I’m not sure what’s going to happen after.”
She also said she feels better at 41 than she did at 21 and wants to sit down with her team once the night is over. Saturday is the final bout on her current PFL deal, after which she becomes a free agent.
Vieira, 34, is 16-5 and makes her promotional debut after a 10-5 run in the UFC. She was released in May despite a unanimous-decision win over Jacqueline Cavalcanti and time spent inside the women’s bantamweight rankings.
Her résumé includes victories over Holly Holm, Miesha Tate, Cat Zingano, and Sara McMann. She has also gone the distance with UFC bantamweight champion Kayla Harrison.
Vieira has treated the matchup as the biggest night of her career. “Simply put, this would be the happiest day of my life,” she told MMA Junkie Radio.
She said the respect stays outside the fence. “I feel like my biggest advantage over Cris is, simply put, I’m not afraid of her,” Vieira said.
A Cyborg win would keep the belt with the champion and give her a round-number 30th victory. A Vieira win would make her a world champion in her PFL debut and end a nearly eight-year unbeaten run.
What happens to the title after Saturday still depends on Cyborg. She has not committed to walking away, only to finishing the contract.
The ESPN main card also features 2024 PFL lightweight champion Gadzhi Rabadanov (27-5-2) against Tracy Reeder (12-5). Rabadanov, ranked No. 2 at 155 pounds, takes a late-replacement date after Jakub Kaszuba withdrew.
Reeder enters on a five-fight winning streak, all by stoppage, in his PFL debut. England’s Luke Trainer (10-1) meets unbeaten wrestler Roland Dunlap (7-0) at light heavyweight.
Brazil’s Marcirley Alves (15-5), the 2025 PFL world tournament champion, meets South Africa’s Nkosi Ndebele (13-3) at catchweight. Prelims start at 5:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
Notable early fights include former UFC title challenger Taila Santos (23-4) against unbeaten Sabrinna de Sousa (6-0) at women’s flyweight, and Magomed Magomedov (22-5) versus former UFC bantamweight Daniel Marcos (18-1).
The rest of the ESPN+ card pairs Movsar Ibragimov (8-1) with Javid Basharat (15-2), Dakota Bush (16-4) with Morquez Forest (8-1), and Natan Schulte (25-6-1) with Makkasharip Zaynukov (19-4). Gino van Steenis (8-2) meets Robert Watley (16-4), Florim Zendeli (11-2-1) takes on Omran Chaaban (10-2), and unbeaten Eoin Sheridan (5-0) faces James Vake (7-2).
PFL Tampa is presented by Visit St. Pete-Clearwater. The 12-bout card is Cyborg’s last scheduled appearance under her current deal.
If she leaves, the women’s featherweight title picture opens immediately. If she stays, Saturday is one more defense in a career that already spans five promotions and two decades.
Either way, Cris Cyborg vs Ketlen Vieira is the last confirmed chapter of this contract, and the first time Vieira has been booked to win a world title. What Cyborg does after the cage door closes is the question she has refused to answer until the fight is over.
