Fabia Sintes Wins Unanimous Decision Over Michael Aljarouj in UFC Debut
Fabia Sintes won his UFC debut by unanimous decision on Saturday, outpointing Michael Aljarouj at UFC Paris. The Spanish flyweight took the judges’ cards 29-28, 29-28 and 29-27 on the prelims of UFC Fight Night: Hooker vs. Parnasse.
The result ended a 3-0 start for French fighters at Accor Arena. Aljarouj, he hometown debutant and Hexagone MMA flyweight champion, fell to 13-4 with two no contests.
Sintes entered 11-3 on a seven-fight winning streak. The 32-year-old from Menorca, known as El Potro Menorquin, won the WOW flyweight title in June 2025 and defended it twice.
His last two wins were finishes. He submitted Amir Malekpour with an armbar on Nov. 28, 2025, then choked Abdul Karim Badakhshi with a rear-naked choke on March 28 in Barcelona.
Aljarouj, 29, came in as the home fighter. Nicknamed The Soldier, he had seven knockouts among 13 wins and last scored a first-round TKO of Pedro Nobre at Hexagone MMA 21 in November 2024.
Both men were making their Octagon debuts at 125 pounds. Referee Marc Goddard started the bout after a glove touch, with the Paris crowd behind Aljarouj.
Aljarouj took the first round with jabs, low kicks, and late clinch work. Sintes completed two takedowns in the opening five minutes, but Aljarouj swept one, scrambled off the other, and closed with punches and knees along the fence.
Sintes turned the fight in Round 2. He stuffed a takedown, landed an uppercut and a knee, then dragged Aljarouj down with a single-leg.
From there he moved to half guard and mount, dropping punches and elbows that opened a cut near Aljarouj’s right eye. Sintes finished the round hunting a mounted guillotine.
Round 3 started on the mat again. Sintes put Aljarouj on his back, worked from half guard, and scored with elbows and hammerfists while defending heel-hook attempts.
Aljarouj finally exploded into top position with about 90 seconds left. He landed body punches, elbows, and a shoulder strike, but the late rally did not erase Sintes’ earlier control.
The scorecards confirmed a close fight. Two judges had it 29-28, and one scored it 29-27 for Sintes.
Sintes is now 12-3, with an eight-fight winning streak and a 1-0 UFC record. Five of those 12 wins have come by submission.
Aljarouj is 0-1 in the promotion. He was the first French fighter to lose Saturday after Delphine Benouaich, Matthieu Duclos, and Nora Cornolle had all won.
Sintes trains at MMA BCN Team and Levium Armorum Menorca. He reached the UFC without going through Dana White’s Contender Series, then won on the road in a building that had been cheering against him.
The unanimous decision will not by itself put Sintes into the official UFC flyweight rankings. It does show he can take a dangerous finisher down and keep the fight there when the crowd is on the other side.
